Training at VIP Kennels We recommend Billericay Dog Training School (01268 492237 and www.bdts.org.uk) where excellent training classes and courses are available with outstanding facilities. BDTS only uses kind, fair and positive reinforcement techniques that are highly effective. At VIP Kennels we offer the following: Behavioural Counselling Dogs with specific behavioural problems usually need to be seen. at least initially, in their home situation. Afterwards sessions at the kennels where we have a very controlled and safe environment may be needed to modify certain behaviour although this is not always necassary. Undesirable behaviour associated with particular locations is often best treated where it occurs so we are happy to work with the dog anywhere. Any dog that develops behavioural problems should always be checked by a vet prior to counselling. Specialist Training These can be tailored to individual needs e.g. a reliable recall can be taught in 2 one hour sessions with sufficient practice at home in between. Basic Residential Training This can be useful especially for younger dogs and includes a 90-minute session with the owner on the return of the dog. Special Residential Training If a dog has a specific need that can be addressed in a kennel environment we can undertake to modify the behaviour during a stay with us. This will depend on a number of factors including the length of stay, the eradication of any contributing factors in the home and the owner's willingness to continue with the therapy when the dog goes home.

At VIP Kennels we provide one to one training and training in small groups with a special focus on dealing with both acute and chronic behavioural issues.

We offer a home visit service to resolve difficult situations and are always happy to offer advise on all aspects of dog care and training.
